Introduction
The Way
Today, like every other day, people are born and people die. Your day is coming, and there’s not a thing you can do about it. Why are you here? What’s the point? What’s the purpose? In the end, we all just do the best we can and live each day like a child grabbing as many blocks as possible and stacking them until they fall over.
While you’re busy stacking your blocks it’s easy to lose your way, especially when happiness turns to heartache and joy to pain. It can make you wonder if you ever knew the way, and what is the point to all of this? Even when things are going well, there can be a shallowness in lack of purpose as each day goes by, each joy fades, and we come one day closer to death.
If there is a true God where is He? Who is He? Why did He put me here, and what does He want? Is there really a “Way” to live?
We are born with nothing but our intellect and instincts to find our way. Where do we look? Other people? Religion?
Some people have spent a great deal of time thinking about it in depth, and over the years we have seen many different concepts. Some are very good written by people of great intellect, and some – not so much. Some have even been the basis for religions.
Many have existed for centuries and others are new. They can give us comfort and even point us toward God, but all that are written by the hand of man are limited to the knowledge, wisdom, and intellect of the person writing. Therefore they will all fall short at some point.
Just because someone has a title doesn’t make them right. GOD thinks we’re all pretty special and He’s pretty good at saying what He means and meaning what He says.
There are a lot of different ideas floating around out there, a lot of different paths going a lot of different directions, and they can’t all be right. What do you believe and why?
Many have taken a belief that makes sense to them and then made everything else fit with it, right or wrong. Like ignoring the other side of the coin or finding a way to just make it fit. We force a square peg in a round hole, or maybe just a slightly oval one, and we are busy banging away on that hammer because it “has to fit.”
We are called His children for a reason; we all need to grow in knowledge and understanding. When we stop learning, we stop growing. Where are you on the growth chart? Have you stopped growing? Are you happy with where you are? Or perhaps you’ve even gotten a little shorter lately? Are you ready to grow or are you afraid to let go and explore the possibility there may be more, perhaps another side to the coin you haven’t seen or looked at closely enough? Are you ready for some growing pains?
Until you are willing to let go of everything you thought you knew about God and seek Him as He is, you will miss Him, along with your purpose in life and the peace that comes with it.
It is not up to me or you to define him, who he is, what he has done, or to set his boundaries. You may believe in God, even have a zeal for him, but if you are hanging on to an unchallenged concept of who he is, you can in ignorance miss him altogether.
With all the different religions and ideas out there, what are the odds that you are the one who has everything right and have nothing else to learn? Without knowledge and a proper understanding, as with anything in life, you’re missing out.
Our place is not to change his Word but to decide if we will allow Him to have full control, every time, always, and especially when we don’t understand. Nobody knows everything, which means everybody’s wrong about something.
Success in knowing God comes from understanding who we are, and putting GOD in the proper place. In this confusing world, surrounded by ideas and teachings that are not from God, we have to have the understanding and wisdom to confirm what is right, as well as the courage to change what is wrong.
If our faith is anchored in the right place, nothing new or different should ever make us uncomfortable, at least for too long. Humility is a necessity for learning, and pride restricts knowledge.
This book was not written to be popular, or just to make people feel good. It was written to bring everyone, no matter their background or beliefs, to a better understanding of who the living GOD is and the way to find joy and purpose in living, as well as dying, by being close to Him.
If you can, and if you are ready to better understand and walk a little closer to the Almighty, ready to grow by taking a few minutes to learn The Way a little more perfectly, it doesn’t matter if you’re a non-believer or a devout disciple. If you’re ready then read on, this is for you. If not, then you should probably put it down now.
